Toroidal transformer winding – toroidal transformer formula

Toroidal transformer winding – toroidal transformer formula. How to calculate toroidal transformer turns?

In this article, we are going to discuss how to wind a toroidal Transformer? and how to calculate the number of terms of power toroidal transformers.?

What is mean by a power toroidal transformers

The toroidal transformers are the power transformer with a toroid core or round shaped core primary and the secondary coil are wounded. the current flow through the primary it induces an electromagnetic force and then the current is in the secondary winding thereby transferring Pawan from the primary coil to the secondary coil by mutual induction.

If you want to know how to work the transformers – principle, and working of transformers

Toroidal transformers are the most efficient Transformer than comparing with the normal transformers. Because they having less energy loss in converting the voltage. Because of the enclosed for each loop provide good mutual induction. There is no leakage in the flux happened.

But with the comparison of cost wise the toroidal course is a much greater price than the normal transformers. In power audio amplifier and power inverter that toroidal Transformer are mostly using. Deccan easily provides the high current tanda high voltage output.

Toroidal Transformer designing and calculation

In this, we are going to the taken toroidal transformer for explaining the formula.

(d1-d2) * h = Area of the toroidal core

1.5 * 5.2 = 7.8cm

According to Rule 42 for making the transformer, the area has to be divided by using the content.

42/7.8 = 5.38 turns

that means 5.38 turns needs for producing 1 volt. so we need 220 volts so

5.38 * 220 = 1184.61 turns = 1190 turns needs for producing 220v output.

The secondary coil turns we need to find out

need 35-0-35 output on the secondary coil so

35 * 5.38 = approx. 190 turns needs

for center tap turns 190 first turns and common tapping again 190 turns. that’s it
