50 Watts Amplifier Circuit Using TDA2030

Build 50watt amplifier circuit using TDA2030 or TDA2050. A single TDA2030 IC can deliver up to 15 watts output. We can alter the circuit diagram then we will get up to 50 watts output. We are boost up the power of the amplifier by introduce two power transistors in the circuit.

Dual power supply circuit version

The TDA2030 performs a major part of voltage amplification in this circuit. The IC performs the amplification of the power supply current to the IC varies according to the input signal from the audio source.

The variations in the positive supply pin, are coupled to the PNP transistor and the variations in the negative supply coupled to the base of NPN transistor.

The voltage amplification is done by the TDA2030 IC, and the current amplification is done by these two complementary transistors.

Commonly used for current amplification the transistors are BD 712 and BD 711. But the availability of these two transistors is less.

So we need to replace the two old transistors with the new one. The alternative transistors are TIP35 (NPN) and TIP36 (PNP).

Can you also replaced the TDA2030 with the TDA2050 ic. the working voltage and the performance of TDA2050 is good as compared with the Tda2030 IC. The circuit diagram is same for TDA 2050 IC.

TIP 35 and TIP 36 Transistor as an alternative to the BD 712 and BD 711 Using in Amplifier Circuit. TIP35A, 35B, 35C, ( NPN) and TIP36A, 36B, 36C, (PNP). The transistors are 25 ampere complementary silicon power transistor with the working voltage of 60 – 100v volt with 125 watts Power Dissipation.

Why TIP35 and TIP36 are Selected?

The TIP35 (NPN) and the TIP36 (PNP) transistors are available in three variant. Letter commonly named us a, b, c. this variant having different collector-emitter voltage that’s the only difference appearing.

  • The TIP35A and TIP36A the working collector-emitter voltage is 60 volt.
  • TIP35A and TIP36B the collector-emitter working voltage is 80 volt.
  • And the last one TIP35C and TIP36C the working voltage of these two transistors are 100 volts.
  • For this circuit we need only TIP35A and TIP36A because the power supply is 40 volt. Selecting these two transistors will minimize the cost of the circuit.
