Reverse Polarity Protection Circuit Using Diode

Connecting electronic circuits to the battery in reverse polarity connection lead to damaging the electronic components like IC, Micro controller chip etc. so without this Circuit in your project then you should take more care while connecting to the DC source.

In this article i am sharing the useful electronics project of silicon diode or shottkey diode based Reverse Polarity Protection Circuit. To build this simple reverse protection project you need a diode and capacitor.

The capacitor is optional one, but with capacitor is much better for the efficient working of this circuit. The diode based reverse polarity protection circuit has the advantage and disadvantages.

Components Required

  • 1N4007 Diode or any other Shottkey diode
  • 220uf/63v electrolytic capacitor

Connection

  • Connect the diode negative region to the capacitor Positive terminal.
  • The Positive terminal connecting to the battery connection as positive connection.
  • The negative connection to the capacitor negative terminal.
  • The output voltage is takes out from the capacitor and diode jointed connection and negative out from the capacitor negative terminal.
