Bulge on a Transistor: Causes, Signs and How to Prevent Damage

A bulge on a transistor means the outside of the transistor looks swollen or puffed up. This usually happens when something goes wrong inside the transistor. It’s often a sign that the transistor has been damaged by too much heat, too much electricity, or poor manufacturing. This bulge can often be seen on the plastic casing of the transistor and is a warning that it might no longer work properly.
