10 Watt Class D Amplifier Circuit

Introduction

The class d amplifiers are the most efficient amplifiers to use on the car audio amplifier and also the home audio systems. So in this post i would like to share the very simple 10 watt class d amplifier circuit using TDA7480 IC.

You know the major difference between Class a class b and class d amplifiers, class A has the highest sound fidelity but it produces the highest amount of heat. The class b amplifiers are more efficient amps than the class a audio amplifiers.

But the one disadvantage of the class b amplifier is about the distortion. The class d amplifiers are the most efficient amplifiers in the world, and it is most suitable for all types of applications.

The tda74980 is a 10 watt mono class d amplifier IC, that can be worked on the single supply and also the dual supply ( splitted voltages). The ic is most efficient and the heat sink is not required for its working. Several features available on this IC are the overvoltage protection and the stan-by mute features. The IC is designed dfo the TV and home audio system. The IC is coming in th empower DIP packaging.

The DC maximum input voltage is about 20 V and I recommend using the 15 V DC supply. While using the circuit in the dual power supply mode you must use the 15 V dual power supply.
