3 Digit Capacitor Code Calculator

3 digit capacitor code can be calculate using this online calculator tool. You can get the results in three different units.

This calculator is very useful for finding the value of Film capacitors, Disc capacitors, Polyester capacitors, and titanium capacitors with 3-digit codes on it. This calculator will convert the 3 digits into the corresponding pF, nF and µF.

Results:

Picofarads:
Nanofarads:
Microfarads:

First, you need to enter the 3 digits of numbers in the entry field of the calculator. After that click the calculate button to show the value in pF, nF and µF respectively. You can clear the input field by pressing the clear button next to the calculate button.

How Do the Calculations Work

In the 3 digit capacitor first two digits represent the capacitance value and the third is its multiplier value. the equation to calculate the capacitance is given below.

For example calculation: a capacitor is labeled with the number of “473” which indicates,

  • The first two digits are “47” as its capacitance.
  • The third digit is “3” which is its multiplier value of 103.

Capacitance = 47*103 which means 47*(10*10*10) the value will be 47,000 in pF and also called 47nF or 0.047 µF.
