Easiest and cheap to make a voltage regulator using a few components. With two push switches, you can easily control the power of output voltage. Sounds looks good, yes it is possible to build with a few electronics components. These are cheaply available in any electronics shop.

Turn on the circuit and press any button and see the difference in the output. More clearly connect a DC light in output. Then press those buttons and realize the working of the circuit.
connect any load working with 12v ( bulb ) to check the circuit. if you are pressing the SW1 button then the circuit will provide more current through the IRF 3205 mosfet. pressing the second switches h of SW2 will reduces the passage of current through the mosfet.
