Thermal Transistors Handle Heat with No Moving Parts

In modern  Electronics the transistors have a crucial role. But they face challenges like producing heat. The researchers at the University of california and los angeles have come up with a perfect solution for this issue.

A solid state thermal transistor. This is the new technology and first device to use an electric field to control the flow of heat through the electronics.

According to professor Yomngjie Hu, The lead author of this study. There has been a strong desire to control heat transfer in the same way we control electronics. But the process is a tough task.

Traditionally Excess heat in the transistor is controlled by using the heat sinks. The more active way to thermal control is applying moving parts or fluid that can take a long time to cool.

The thermal transistors offer a faster and more precise way to control the flow of heat. So this device is promising that it can effectively manage the heat in electronics devices.
