TDA8359J IC: Driving Vertical Deflection in TV Sets and Monitor

CRT monitors (Cathode Ray Tubes) are present in old TVs and monitors, which display images using the transfer of electrons inside the monitor. This electron movement is used for the complete display of the image or videos. This TDA8359J IC is used for vertical Deflection in TV (Controlling the vertical movements of electron beams).

What is a Deflection Coil

Deflection Coil of CRT Monotor

A deflection coil is an electronic component present inside old CRT monitors that change the direction of electron movement.

The direction of the electron beam is controlled by the magnetic field produced by the Deflection coil.

There are two types of Deflection present: vertical and horizontal. This TDA8359 IC is one of the circuits used to control the vertical Deflection of electrons.

Specifications and Features of the TDA8359J

  • Suitable for vertical deflection in large screen CRTs.
  • DC coupled vertical output
  • Builtin guard and thermal protection
  • 90-degree and 110degree colour Deflection
  • Fully bridged output
