The most of the hobby electronics enthusiast using this IC to build inverter circuits or frequency generator circuit, because the CD4047 IC is act like a multivibrator (Producing square waves at the output section based on the connected external components to the IC). Easy to use and few number of components need to works. This making the IC is more comfortable for electronic hobbyist.

Function of CD4047 Multivibrator IC
The primary function of CD4047 is works as a multivibrator, generating the precise timing pulse and waveform at the output pin of 13. The frequency and the output waveform is controlled by the external capacitor and resistor, that are represented as C and R in the pin configuration figure. Changing the values of C and R will changes the duty cycle and output frequency.

What are the Different Mode of Working
The IC can be works in 3 different modes, The modes are determined by the circuit design. the three modes are given here as,
- Astable
- Monostable mode
- Bistable mode
Astable mode of working: From the name astable mode of working the IC continuously producing output frequency or output waveform. The frequency is depending on the external components like C and R.
Monostable mode working: The monostable mode means the CD4047 IC producing output pulse when any trigger signal initiated.
Bistable mode of working: In simple term it acts like the flip flop, it will maintaining the output state until the next trigger initiated by the clock.
Calculation for Output Frequency of CD4047
In free running mode the output frequency is calculated using this formula,
F = 1/(4.4 * R * C)
where R= Resistor valur
C =capacitance
