Resistor with color code

First of all, you need to know about the resistor and resistance what is mean by a resistor and what is the use of a resistor in the electronic devices for a beginner in electronics you need to know all the components to get the better understanding of the electronic devices.

What is resistor and resistance?

The resistor is defined as a device having resistance to the passage of an electric current in the circuit. That means the current will be reduced from one end to another and when passing through the device. This obstruction is called as the resistor resistance.

Let me discuss the detailed of resistor and resistance. The electricity flows through a metal carried by electrons the tiny charged particles inside the atom. That means the material conduct electricity that a low electron to flow freely through them. For example, the insulating material does not allow the electron movement and the copper material having a lot of copper molecules which allowed the atom to move across the metal this will act as conduction of electricity.

The metals are good conductors the metal have puts up relativity the little resistance when the electricity is passing through it. The rubber and plastic are entirely different from the metals.

This resistance of a resistor is calculated as by using the ohm’s law it is stated that voltage is equal to the multiplication of current and resistance. that means the voltage is depending on the current and the resistance of the resistor. changing stands will increase the voltage or decreasing the voltage.

For example, the power supply from the powerhouse is in 2 kilovolts, 20 kilovolts 400 kilowatt why this high voltage supply.

The main reason is reducing the loss of energy. The wire thickness increasing the resistance will be decreasing this is the main concept. While in power transmission the power loss can be reduced by in two ways.

  • The first one is increasing the thickness of the transmitting wire.
  • The second one is increasing the voltage supply.

Increasing the thickness of wire is very costly so we following the second one.

The possible ways reducing the current while transmitting. The current is reduced we can reduce energy loss while transmitting the energy. If the 1-kilometer wire resistance is 10-kilo ohm and the supply voltage will be reduced after transmitting through this wire. So we will be reducing the current while transmitting the energy.

The resistor with colour code

There are too many different types of resistors are available which can be used in electronic circuits to control the current or to produce a voltage drop in many different ways. The resistor having some colour codes which is important while choosing a resistor in an electronic circuit. The resistor is mentioned as in ohms kilo ohms for mega ohms.

The resistor contains four-lined printed colours which are tiny lines. the first three lines represent the value of the resistor and the last one represents the tolerance of the resistor.
